Incurable future optimist

“Whoever wants to win the future needs lightness, a desire for new things and perseverance. It’s the only way to infect your environment. That’s the only way to win people for the road. And in the end, that is the only way to be successful.”

As a management consultant, Matthias accompanies organisations on their way into the future. He is enthusiastic about new forms of leadership, strategy, and organisation and is convinced: If organisations are created in a way that gets their people to commit with hearts and minds, we don’t have to worry about the future.

In his consulting approach, Matthias combines a systematic understanding of organisations with more than twenty years of management and leadership experience at a major bank as well as an international management consultancy. With a PhD in business education, he focuses on issues of corporate management, strategy development, and experience-oriented intervention formats.

Before founding HRpepper, Matthias worked as a banker, education manager, management consultant, and university lecturer. After his studies in business education at the Free University of Berlin and his doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin, he went on to study and research at the European Business School, the University of Magdeburg, and the Technical University of Berlin. He is the author of numerous essays and books, publisher of a series of practitioners’ books, and columnist of Manager Magazine. Between 2010 and 2014, he advised the Federal Minister of Defence in the Advisory Council on Internal Governance. Since 2013, Matthias has been nominated as one of the “40 leading minds in human resources” by “Personalmagazin”.

Whenever Matthias is not travelling in behalf HRpepper, he can be found on a (short) trips with his family, trail running, socializing with friends, or on the road with his beloved vintage car.

What do you associate with HRpepper?
