How can we introduce new groupwide processes?

HRpepper is assisting the autonomous business units of a mechanical engineering group in the redesign and IT implementation of the talent management process to achieve a fast rollout for a standardized global process that embeds talent management at the top level.

The Challenge
The business units of the group operated disjointed talent management processes at different levels of sophistication. There were no standardized diagnostic instruments for the assessment of performance, potential, or competences. The group’s Directors requested a uniform management approach for high potentials and the quick implementation of a talent concept to create transparency about the talent pipeline.

The Response
HRpepper analysed the available processes and instruments and tabled a unified model in design workshops. Following reference models, specific adjustments were introduced and group standards as well as unit / country-specific customizations were added. The IT expertise of HRpepper meant that the instruments were immediately designed for their cost-efficient integration into the established talent management suite.

The Results
Few workshops were needed to develop a working concept to be implemented quickly across business units and country organizations. Unit-specific talent review conferences and a consolidated holding conference will be conducted within the first year.
