We would love to welcome you with a glass of sparkling wine at 5.30 p.m. on 12 April for the launch of HRpepper. After a brief introduction, our programme for the evening will lead us immediately into the topic of “The why of work”.

For the first time in Germany, we have brought together an illustrious group of speakers, including an athlete at the top of his game, a spokesperson for a leading social organization, a filmmaker and a business consultant to ask them the not-so-simple question about “The why of work”.
Gold medallist Jonas Reckermann will bring some Olympic spirit into our discussion. As one of Germany’s most successful beach volleyball stars, he has recently retired from active competition for health reasons and will speak about motivation, discipline, and the experience of success and failure.
The counterpoint is set by the German filmmaker and documentary film producer Konstantin Faigle. In May 2013, his critical piece “FROHES SCHAFFEN” will be released in cinemas across Germany. At our event, he will speak about how work has become a fetish, a mantra, or the secret religion of the modern man. In times of crisis and the rapid loss of jobs, he will ask his sometimes funny and sometimes painful question about the “holy” sense of work.
Another view on the sense of work will be introduced by Rev. Hartmut Hühnerbein. He will speak about the practices of a Christian oriented company in the social economy and about the balance of Christian belief, social responsibility, and entrepreneurial requirements.

The keynote speech will be given by Professor Chris Brewster from Henley Business School (in English). He is not only a renowned authority on international HR management and inspiring speaker, but also the recipient, alongside Dave Ulrich, of the coveted award of the World Federation of People Management Associations.

The remainder of the evening will be given over to networking and enjoying our buffet with our speakers and other guests.
